In a candid statement shared on X, Doze argued that true success in game development stems from human vision and a deep connection with the player community, not from purely algorithmic creation.

Doze articulated his vision for the industry, stating, "What this industry genuinely needs is not more mathematically engineered, psychologically calibrated gameplay loops, but rather more expressions of worlds that people are engaged with, or aspire to engage with." While acknowledging AI's potential as a tool, he asserted that no amount of technology can compensate for a profound deficit in compelling leadership and creative direction. "AI won't solve the industry's big problem, which is leadership and vision," he declared.

Contrary to being a technological luddite, Doze recognizes that AI will inevitably play a significant role in game development. However, he cautions against a trajectory dictated solely by figures like Elon Musk or the current profit-driven industry. "We need more human self-expression, not less," he insisted. "The ones who will succeed are the people who are making things for people."

Doze underscored the fundamental need for mutual respect between creators and players. "There's no response without mutual respect. There's no mutual respect without respect for craft. There's no craft without the human touch... Turning games into digital, soulless content is to forfeit any response, and it's precisely because of that that people play!" Doze has consistently been a vocal critic of the current state of the gaming industry, having previously told PC Gamer that "marketing is dead" and that players "just want to be talked to, not lied to."
