RedMagic 11 Air: First Images Reveal Bold Design and Active Cooling Upgrades

The veil has been lifted, and the first tantalizing glimpses of the upcoming Nubia RedMagic 11 Air have emerged, courtesy of China's TENAA regulatory body. These initial images not only showcase a striking new aesthetic but also strongly hint at a significant internal upgrade: the return of active cooling with a fan. This is a crucial development for a brand synonymous with high-performance gaming smartphones, promising to keep those powerful internals running at peak efficiency.

Under the Hood: Powerhouse Specs Revealed

Beyond the visual, TENAA's database (under model number NX799J) has spilled the beans on the RedMagic 11 Air's core specifications. Prepare for a visual feast on a generous 6.85-inch display boasting a crisp 2688×1216 pixel resolution. Powering this beast will be the formidable MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset, a true workhorse designed for demanding mobile tasks. Complementing this raw power is a staggering configuration of up to 24GB of RAM and a massive 1TB of internal storage, ensuring you'll have ample space and speed for all your games and media.

A Leaner, Meaner Machine with Enduring Power

Despite its impressive internals, the RedMagic 11 Air manages to maintain a surprisingly svelte profile. With a thickness of just 7.85mm, it's a testament to smart engineering. This slimness is achieved while housing a substantial approximately 7000 mAh battery (with a nominal capacity of 6780 mAh), which contributes to its declared weight of 207g. Interestingly, the new model is set to be slightly more compact than its predecessor, the RedMagic 10 Air, measuring 163.82×76.54mm, making it marginally shorter and narrower.

Design Evolution: A Striking Transformation

The RedMagic 11 Air marks a departure from the aesthetic of the RedMagic 10 Air, which launched in April 2025. While the front of the device remains largely obscured in the leaked images, the 16-megapixel under-display selfie camera is expected to make a return. The real transformation is evident on the rear and side edges. The back panel now features a distinctive cluster of four raised camera rings – a departure from the flatter design seen on the Pro and Pro+ variants of the RedMagic 11 series. Although the specifications list only two rear cameras, a 50MP main sensor and an 8MP secondary lens, the visual presentation is undeniably eye-catching. The LED flash has also been repositioned to the bottom of the camera module, a subtle yet noticeable change.

Gamer-Centric Touches and Cooling Innovation

The design language extends to more than just cameras. Approximately two-thirds of the rear panel are adorned with an intricate line pattern, adding a layer of visual complexity and flair. Adjacent to the camera array sits a circular RedMagic logo, and the presence of visible screws on the panel evokes a raw, industrial aesthetic reminiscent of the CMF Phone 2 Pro. For gamers, the most exciting upgrades are the new rectangular touch triggers, replacing the previous oval ones. The power button and Magic Key have also been reconfigured into elongated, pill-shaped buttons, signaling a refined user experience. Crucially, the right-hand edge now sports ventilation slots, strongly suggesting the integration of that previously mentioned active cooling system – a feature notably absent in the RedMagic 10 Air.

Color and Availability Expectations

The device is showcased in a pristine white colorway in the leaked images. However, adhering to RedMagic's established traditions, it's highly probable that a spectrum of color options will be available upon the official launch, catering to diverse user preferences. This strategic inclusion of active cooling and a refreshed, aggressive design language positions the RedMagic 11 Air as a compelling contender in the premium gaming smartphone market.
