He elaborated that the optionally piloted Black Hawk can significantly alleviate pilot workload in perilous environments or undertake crucial resupply missions without any human onboard. "In challenging logistical scenarios, a Black Hawk operating as a large drone offers commanders enhanced resilience and flexibility in delivering resources," he added. This innovative technology, a key component of DARPA's Cockpit Agnostic Operation Automation System (ALIAS), liberates aviation command from the exclusive domain of highly trained pilots, placing powerful control into the hands of ground operators.
