Recent discoveries by Ukraine's Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR MO) have revealed a surprising technological blend within Russian military hardware. The "Molniya-2R" reconnaissance drone, a formidable unmanned aerial vehicle, has been found to incorporate not only sophisticated Western hardware but also licensed software, notably Windows 11 and components from Elon Musk's Starlink satellite internet service. This revelation, detailed on the HUR MO's official website and Telegram channel, and further elaborated in the War Sanctions database, paints a complex picture of Russia's supply chain and technological dependencies.
A Dual-Computer System for Enhanced Operations
The "Molniya-2R" is equipped with a dual-computer system designed to manage its extensive surveillance and operational capabilities. One of these computers is a compact, single-board Raspberry Pi 5, a popular choice for hobbyists and developers, which likely handles specific control functions. Complementing this is a more robust Mini PC F8, a product of Chinese manufacturing, deceptively rebranded under the Russian label "Raskat" by LLC "NEW IT PROJECT." Astonishingly, this mini-PC runs a fully licensed version of Windows 11, raising questions about how such software was acquired and integrated into a military drone.

For its primary reconnaissance mission, the "Molniya-2R" is fitted with a SIYI ZR10 camera, a Chinese-made unit boasting impressive 10x optical zoom and three-axis stabilization.
